Email Marketing pricing at your contact count

Use my pricing calculator to see how MailerLite compares with other Email Marketing software at the contact count you actually need. Every tool here is priced at the same volume, which is the comparison a vendor’s own pricing page cannot make.

contacts

At 500 contacts, MailerLite costs $19/mo on Comfort, which is #14 of 24 in Email Marketing. Mailchimp, the most-reviewed option here, costs $27/mo at the same volume.

Priced in another currency, so listed separately rather than ranked:

The vendor’s own price is on the left. The dollar figure is my conversion at rates taken on 2026-08-06, shown only to give a sense of scale. These vendors do not set their dollar price by converting, so the approximation is not what you would be charged and is not used for ranking.

Some tools do not publish a price at exactly 500 contacts. Those show the next tier up, which is what you would actually pay: EmailOctopus at 2,500, Flodesk at 1,000, beehiiv at 2,500, Loops at 1,000, Sender at 2,500, Buttondown at 1,000.

MailerLite charges beyond the plan price

These are optional, but they are the charges that move a plan price once you are running.

Read from MailerLite’s own pricing page. Where a charge is listed without an amount, the vendor prices it by destination or usage rather than publishing a single rate, so it is shown as charged separately rather than estimated here.

Each median is the middle price of the cheapest plan covering that level, across the 36 Email Marketing tools on this site. Tools that publish no price at a level are excluded from that row rather than estimated, which is why coverage varies. “Most reviewed” uses combined third-party review counts as a stand-in for popularity. These are list prices before overage, add-ons and seat charges.

Recommendation

Which plan should you choose?

+
Free PlanComplete Beginners

The free plan includes 1,000 subscribers and 12,000 monthly emails, which is one of the more generous free tiers in email marketing. The drag-and-drop editor, landing pages, and basic automation are all available at no cost, providing a genuine working platform rather than a limited demo. For beginners learning email marketing or building their first campaigns, this is enough to start generating real results. Upgrade to Growing Business when you exceed 1,000 subscribers or need features like auto-resend campaigns and digital product selling.

+
Growing BusinessCourse Creators

Growing Business adds digital product selling features, letting course creators sell directly through email campaigns and landing pages without a separate storefront. The integrated payment processing eliminates the need for a separate course delivery platform for straightforward digital products. Unlimited emails on this tier mean you can run promotional campaigns during launches without send limit concerns. Move to Advanced if you need unlimited users, advanced automations, or a dedicated IP address.

+
AdvancedMarketing Agencies

Advanced includes unlimited users and advanced automation features that support agency teams managing campaigns for multiple clients. The expanded automation builder handles more complex workflows like multi-step conditional sequences and behavioral triggers. For agencies where several team members need account access, unlimited user seats prevent per-seat cost increases. Enterprise is only necessary if you need a dedicated IP address or priority account support.

+
EnterpriseLarge Enterprises

Enterprise adds a dedicated IP address and dedicated support, both critical for organizations sending at high volume where deliverability reputation matters. A dedicated IP means your sending reputation is not affected by other senders on a shared pool. Priority support ensures issues are resolved quickly when email is a key business communication channel. If your sending volume does not require dedicated infrastructure, Advanced provides the same core features at a lower cost.

+
Free PlanSmall Local Businesses

Most small local businesses can operate within the free plan's 1,000 subscriber and 12,000 monthly email limits indefinitely. Local service businesses, restaurants, and shops typically maintain smaller, focused email lists that stay well under these caps. The free plan includes landing pages and forms needed to collect subscriber information from local customers. This makes MailerLite one of the best no-cost options for small local businesses that want professional email marketing without a monthly fee.

Editorial

My take on MailerLite pricing

Joonas Rotko
Joonas RotkoAuthor & founder of That Marketing Buddy

MailerLite balances affordability and capability better than almost anyemail marketingplatform. The free plan is usable (1,000 subscribers, unlimited sends, basic automation), and the $10/month Growing Business plan adds enough features for most small businesses without a dramatic price jump.

Where MailerLite falls short is advanced customization. The automation builder, while functional, does not match the depth of ActiveCampaign or GetResponse. Template design options are also more limited than Mailchimp. If your email strategy relies on complex branching workflows or highly custom designs, MailerLite may feel restrictive.

MailerLite is one of the best starting points for businesses building an email list who want room to grow without immediately hitting expensive pricing tiers. The free-to-paid transition is smoother than most competitors, and the feature set covers the fundamentals well.

Hidden Costs

What the pricing page doesn't tell you

1

Automatic upgrade when subscriber limit exceeded

If you exceed your subscriber limit on paid plans, your account will be automatically upgraded to the next plan tier and your credit card will be charged without manual approval. For free accounts, sending is stopped until you manually upgrade.

2

VAT and sales tax not included in listed prices

All subscription fees shown on the pricing page are exclusive of VAT and sales tax. VAT rates vary by country and will be added at checkout based on your billing country.

3

No refunds for plan violations or unused services

No refunds are provided if your account is suspended for violating terms or anti-spam policies, for unused or partially used plans, for purchasing the wrong plan by mistake, or for canceling immediately after being charged for a new billing period.

4

Account approval required before full access

After creating an account, you must complete your profile and request approval before gaining full access to services. MailerLite reserves the right to review your subscriber lists and past campaign performance before granting full purchased limit approval.

5

Legacy plan restrictions and limitations

Legacy (Classic) users on monthly plans cannot switch to annual plans, and annual plans are no longer available for new Legacy users. Legacy accounts on expired paid plans are downgraded to Free for 30 days, then disabled with limited functionality.

6

Free plan email sending limit

The free plan is limited to 12,000 monthly emails, not unlimited like the paid plans. Once this limit is reached, you cannot send additional emails until the next billing cycle or upgrade.

Verdict

Is MailerLite Worth the Price?

MailerLite delivers arguably the best value in email marketing for small to mid-size businesses. The free plan is generous, the paid plans are fairly priced, and the feature set covers everything most businesses actually need. It will not wow you with advanced capabilities, but it rarely disappoints on the basics.
