Best SEO tools with AI visibility tracking built in

By Joonas Rotko, ex-agency co-owner, 10+ years spending real marketing budgets

Prices verified · How I choose, and how I earn from this page

For one website that needs classic SEO and real AI prompt tracking in one subscription, I'd start with SE Ranking. Its Core plan covers both for $103.20/month billed annually. Morningscore is cheaper at $82.50/month billed annually and is enough if Google and ChatGPT are the only AI engines you need. Prices were verified 2 Oct 2026.

Every price on this page is for

  • 1 site
  • 100 tracked keywords
  • 25 AI prompts
  • 1 user

Who this is for. Small business owners and solo marketers with one website who would rather pay for one subscription than for a rank tracker and an AI tracker separately. The risk is buying a big suite and using a sliver of it, so this guide prices the one-site job only. None of these tools does the work for you: they show what to fix and what to write, and the weekly hours stay yours.

Looking for something else?

Different job, different guide.

The tools side by side

Each row is the cheapest plan that covers 1 site, 100 tracked keywords, 25 AI prompts and 1 user, worked out for monthly and annual billing separately, except where a note below says otherwise.

Ahrefs: I priced Standard, the cheapest plan that covers one site with AI prompt tracking. Standard includes only 10 AI prompts, so it falls short of the 25 tracked AI prompts above.

Seven picks, in the order I'd consider them

Each one says who it is for, what it costs for one site with AI prompt tracking, and what you give up.

SE Ranking logo

SE Ranking

One plan for SEO and AI tracking

Hands-on

Choose it if

You want one subscription for rankings, site audits and AI search tracking, and don't want to buy an add-on to get it.

Consider Morningscore instead if

You want a simpler tool and Google plus ChatGPT is all the AI tracking you need. It costs $82.50/month billed annually for the plan that fits.

Why it fits one site with AI prompt tracking

Core tracks 100 AI prompts, well above what this workload needs, across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. It also covers 10 sites and 2,000 tracked keywords, so one site never comes near a limit.

The plan I priced

I priced Core: $129/month billed monthly, or $103.20/month billed annually. SE Ranking also sells a separate AI Search package at $89/month billed monthly, but Core already includes the prompts, so you don't need it for one site.

Closest alternative

Semrush becomes the better choice when you want the bigger toolbox and content and ad research, and the extra cost for AI tracking doesn't bother you.

One site with AI prompt tracking: Core

Billed annually

$103.20/mo

Billed monthly

$129/mo

Above 10 sites: Growth (+$120/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

You get the whole toolbox, including backlink data and an article editor, and for one site much of it goes unused. The 14-day trial has no money-back guarantee behind it.
What my review says

Best for: A small business or solo marketer who wants rankings, site audits and AI prompt tracking in one plan.

Skip it if you want a refund guarantee, since SE Ranking gives no refunds once you have paid.

Strengths

  • AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity are all tracked on the entry plan.
  • 10 sites and 2,000 tracked keywords on Core.
  • A 14-day trial that needs no card.

Limits

  • No refunds once you have paid.
  • Core keeps 6 months of history.

Semrush logo

Semrush

AI toolkit, extra cost

Hands-on

Choose it if

You want keyword, competitor, content and ad research in one place and will pay more to get prompt tracking inside it.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

AI prompt tracking is why you're buying. SE Ranking includes 100 prompts in its entry plan, Semrush gives 50 from Starter.

Why it fits one site with AI prompt tracking

Starter tracks 50 AI prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Perplexity and more, alongside 500 tracked keywords. There's a limited free plan, and a 7-day trial, to look around first.

The plan I priced

I priced Starter: $199/month billed monthly, or $165.17/month billed annually. The add-on route is the SEO plan at $139.95/month billed monthly plus the AI Visibility Toolkit at $99/month billed monthly, which covers 25 prompts for 1 brand.

Closest alternative

SE Ranking becomes the better choice when you want the same job done for less money, and don't need Semrush's wider research tools.

One site with AI prompt tracking: Starter

Billed annually

$165.17/mo

Billed monthly

$199/mo

Above 5 sites: Pro+ (+$83/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

This is the dearest way in here for this workload. The entry SEO plan tracks Google AI Overviews but no prompts, so AI tracking means moving up to Starter or buying the AI Visibility Toolkit add-on.
What my review says

Best for: A small business or solo marketer who wants one big toolbox for keyword, competitor and content research and will pay more to get AI prompt tracking inside it.

Skip it if AI prompt tracking is the main reason you are buying, since the entry SEO plan has none and you move up to Starter to get it.

Strengths

  • A limited free plan and a 7-day trial to look around first.
  • Starter tracks 50 AI prompts next to 500 tracked keywords.
  • Keyword, competitor and backlink research sit in the same account.

Limits

  • The entry SEO plan has no AI prompt tracking.
  • Starter stops at 5 sites and 500 keywords.
  • Refunds only on annual plans, in the first 7 days.

Morningscore logo

Morningscore

Beginner friendly, SEO plus GEO

Desk research

Choose it if

You want one simple dashboard, and Google AI Overviews plus ChatGPT cover the AI tracking you need.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

You want more AI engines tracked. Morningscore covers Google and ChatGPT only, and SE Ranking adds AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity.

Why it fits one site with AI prompt tracking

Business tracks 100 AI prompts and 500 keywords across 10 sites, with no add-ons to buy. The 14-day trial needs no card.

The plan I priced

I priced Business, because Lite's 10 prompts fall short: $99/month billed monthly, or $82.50/month billed annually.

Closest alternative

SE Ranking becomes the better choice when you want AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity covered as well, with a larger keyword and site allowance, and a bigger toolbox is fine.

One site with AI prompt tracking: Business

Billed annually

$82.50/mo

Billed monthly

$99/mo

Above 10 sites: Pro (+$50/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

Only Google (AI Overviews) and ChatGPT are tracked. The cheaper Lite plan tracks 10 prompts, so it's too small for this workload, and the pricing page lists no refund terms.
What my review says

Best for: A small business owner who wants one simple tool for Google rankings and ChatGPT visibility, with a trial that needs no card.

Skip it if you want AI tracking beyond Google and ChatGPT, or white-label client reports.

Strengths

  • No add-ons: every feature is in every plan.
  • Business covers 10 websites with 4 users, enough for a small portfolio.
  • A 14-day free trial that needs no credit card.

Limits

  • Lite tracks only 10 prompts, so Business is the plan for this workload.
  • Only Google (AI Overviews) and ChatGPT are tracked.
  • Yearly plans lock you in for the full year, and no refund terms are stated.

Search Atlas logo

Search Atlas

SEO plus AI agent

Desk research

Choose it if

You want one subscription that tracks, fixes and writes, with an AI agent doing some of the work, and you'll pay for the tracking tier.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

You mainly want to see your rankings and AI mentions, not have a platform act on them. Search Atlas is built around a monthly credit budget for actions.

Why it fits one site with AI prompt tracking

Growth tracks 100 AI prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, with 3,500 tracked keywords, local SEO and content tools in the same plan.

The plan I priced

I priced Growth: $199/month billed monthly, or $159/month billed annually. It covers 2 sites and 3 users.

Closest alternative

SE Ranking becomes the better choice when you want AI tracking and a lower price without the credit-based execution platform.

One site with AI prompt tracking: Growth

Billed annually

$159/mo

Billed monthly

$199/mo

Above 2 sites: Pro (+$160/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

The entry Starter plan has no AI visibility tracking at all, so the real entry price is Growth. The trial lasts 7 days, and the pricing page lists no refund terms.
What my review says

Best for: A business owner who wants one subscription to cover tracking, site fixes, content and local SEO, rather than several single-purpose tools.

Skip it if you only want a simple rank or AI tracker, since the plan limits and credit budget are built around a full execution platform.

Strengths

  • Fixes and publishing run inside the product through OTTO and Atlas Agent, not only reporting.
  • Growth tracks 100 AI prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
  • Growth covers 2 sites, 3 users and 3,500 tracked keywords.

Limits

  • Starter has no AI visibility tracking, so the real entry plan is Growth.
  • Plans are built around a credit budget for actions, which a plain tracking job doesn't need.
  • White label only arrives on Pro.

Nightwatch logo

Nightwatch

Rank tracker with AI citations

Desk research

Choose it if

Daily rank tracking is the core job, you want AI prompts alongside it, and a euro price list suits you.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

You want audits and content tools in the same plan. Nightwatch is built around rank tracking.

Why it fits one site with AI prompt tracking

Starter tracks 500 keywords and 50 AI prompts across 5 sites, with a 14-day trial and no card. Pricing follows keywords tracked, not seats.

The plan I priced

I priced Starter in euros: €99/month billed monthly, or €79/month billed annually. It sits in its own currency group on this page, so compare it by plan limits, not by the dollar prices.

Closest alternative

SE Ranking becomes the better choice when you want the AI engines named, plus audits and a content editor in the same plan, and prefer a dollar price list.

€79/mo

Billed monthly

Above 5 sites: Professional (+€80/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

Nightwatch's pricing page shows the AI platforms as icons without naming them in text, so the engines behind the prompts aren't stated. It lists no refund terms, and prices are in euros, so I never rank them against the dollar-priced tools.
What my review says

Best for: One small site that wants daily rank tracking and AI prompt tracking in one tool.

Skip it if you only need a handful of keywords checked now and then, or you want a standing refund guarantee.

Strengths

  • Daily checks on every plan, with on-demand checks on top.
  • 50 AI prompts sit inside the same subscription as rank tracking.
  • Priced by keywords tracked, not by seats.

Limits

  • The pricing page shows the AI platforms as icons and names none of them.
  • Prices are in euros, so there is no dollar price to compare.
  • The pricing page states no refund terms.

Ahrefs

Backlink data, small AI allowance

Hands-on

Choose it if

Backlinks and competitor research drive your SEO, you only need a handful of AI prompts tracked, and you're sure enough to pay without a trial.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

You want to track a real set of AI prompts. Ahrefs includes 10 on Standard and 20 on Advanced, both below this workload.

Why it fits one site with AI prompt tracking

Standard covers 20 sites and 2,000 tracked keywords, and backlink research is what you are paying for. AI tracking is bundled in, but it's a small allowance, not the point of the plan. It sits above Surfer, which I do have an affiliate link for, because Ahrefs is a full SEO platform and Surfer is a content tool that doesn't replace one.

The plan I priced

I priced Standard, which includes only 10 AI prompts: $249/month billed monthly, or $208/month billed annually. Lite is $129/month billed monthly with 5 prompts.

Closest alternative

Semrush becomes the better choice when you want a wider toolbox, a trial period and more AI prompts in the plan.

The trade-off

What my review says

Best for: Someone whose SEO runs on backlink and competitor research and who wants only a small AI prompt allowance on the side.

Skip it if you want a free trial, or AI prompt tracking is the main reason you are buying.

Strengths

  • The deepest backlink data in this list.
  • Standard covers 20 sites and 2,000 tracked keywords.
  • AI prompt tracking is bundled into every paid plan.

Limits

  • Standard tracks only 10 AI prompts, and Advanced 20.

  • No refund policy beyond a discretionary review for non-use.

Surfer

Content optimization with AI visibility tracking

Desk research

Choose it if

Your main job is improving articles, and you want basic AI tracking alongside the writing editor.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

You also need site audits and backlink data. Surfer doesn't replace a full SEO platform.

Why it fits one site with AI prompt tracking

Standard includes 30 articles a month and 25 AI prompts, so you can optimise your writing and get a first look at AI visibility in one tool.

The plan I priced

Surfer is priced on its own workload, a content tool with 25 tracked AI prompts, because it isn't a platform for the one-site workload the others use. Standard is $119/month billed monthly, or $99/month billed annually. Surfer also sells AI Search Analytics separately at $95/month billed monthly.

Closest alternative

SE Ranking becomes the better choice when you'd rather have one subscription that tracks rankings and AI prompts, audits your site and scores content.

What my review says

Best for: A small business or solo marketer who writes articles regularly and wants content scoring with basic ChatGPT tracking alongside it.

Skip it if you need site audits or backlink data, or want AI engines beyond ChatGPT without moving up to Pro.

Strengths

  • Standard includes 30 articles a month and 25 tracked AI prompts.
  • 3 seats on Standard, so a freelancer can share the account.
  • A standalone AI Search Analytics plan at $95/month billed monthly if you skip the writing tools.

Limits

  • Standard tracks ChatGPT only.
  • The 7-day trial needs a card and converts to a paid plan.
  • The entry Discovery plan has no AI search tracking and no WordPress or Google Docs.

What one site with AI prompt tracking really costs

The bars are the annual price per month of the cheapest plan that meets the workload above, so the dollar-priced platforms compare fairly. Ahrefs is left out of the chart because its plan tracks fewer AI prompts than the workload needs, and Surfer is priced on a content workload. Both are in the table and on their cards.

One exception: Ahrefs is priced on Standard. Standard includes only 10 AI prompts, so it falls short of the 25 tracked AI prompts the others meet.

Dollar prices, per month (billed annually where sold)

Other currencies, per month (billed annually where sold)

Other currencies are not converted to dollars and are not compared with the bars above.

  • Morningscore$99 monthly, $82.50 yearly: 17% less
  • Search Atlas$199 monthly, $159 yearly: 20% less
  • Nightwatch€99 monthly, €79 yearly: 20% less
  • Ahrefs$249 monthly, $208 yearly: 16% less
  • Surfer$119 monthly, $99 yearly: 17% less

When you'll outgrow the plan

The first limit you hit, and the next plan up.

  • SE Ranking: above 10 sites, Growth (+$120/mo)
  • Semrush: above 5 sites, Pro+ (+$83/mo)
  • Morningscore: above 10 sites, Pro (+$50/mo)
  • Search Atlas: above 2 sites, Pro (+$160/mo)
  • Nightwatch: above 5 sites, Professional (+€80/mo)
  • Surfer: above 1 site, Pro (+$83/mo)
How I calculated this

Workload: 1 site, 100 tracked keywords, 25 AI prompts, 1 user.

A plan counts only if it tracks 25 AI prompts. Google AI Overview tracking alone doesn't count here.

  • Ahrefs is priced on Standard by choice, which is below the 25 tracked AI prompts requirement.

Other options, and why they missed the list

I kept this list short on purpose. A tool has to cover SEO for your own site and track AI prompts inside the same subscription, and its plan limits have to be published. Tools that only track AI mentions are in the AI visibility guide.

How I chose, and how I earn from this page

Joonas Rotko

Who is behind this guide

Joonas Rotko

I co-ran a marketing agency in Finland and spent more than ten years buying SEO and marketing software with real client budgets. I write these guides for the person who has to pay for the tool and use it.

More about me and how I review

Affiliate disclosure

Links marked as affiliate links pay me a commission when you buy through them, and you pay the same price either way. My shortlist starts from tools that include AI prompt tracking inside an SEO subscription for one site and that I can price from the vendor's own page. When two tools fit about equally, I put the one with an affiliate program first. I have no affiliate link for Ahrefs. It is here for its backlink data, and it sits above Surfer, which I do have a link for, because Ahrefs is a full SEO platform and Surfer is a content tool, so the two don't fit equally. A commission has no say in the prices shown or in what a card says about a plan's limits.

How this guide was prepared

What I did

  • Every plan price and limit on this page comes from the vendor's own pricing page, and the Sources list shows each link and the day I checked it. The page uses one set of figures throughout, so a price in a card cannot differ from the table.
  • The cost on each card is the cheapest plan that meets the workload shown at the top of the page, worked out for monthly and annual billing separately. The AI part is the strict one: Google AI Overview tracking alone does not count, because the point of this list is tracking prompts you choose. A plan with unpublished limits is left out.
  • Nightwatch charges in euros, so it sits in its own group: its prices are never converted, ranked against or subtracted from the dollar prices.
  • The Hands-on and Desk research labels show what a review rests on. Hands-on means my own use of the product backs the review, and desk research means it rests on the vendor's published plans and documentation.

What to keep in mind

  • Vendors change plans and AI allowances often, so read each source date as the last day I confirmed that plan.
  • Nightwatch's pricing page shows its AI platforms as icons without naming them, so I don't list its engines.
  • Ahrefs's Lite, Standard and Advanced plans all track fewer AI prompts than this workload needs. It sells separate prompt-check packages, but they are counted in checks, not prompts, so I can't turn them into a cost for this workload. Its card shows Standard with its smaller allowance.
  • Surfer is priced on a content workload, not the one-site workload, so its cost is not directly comparable with the platforms.

Questions people ask

Do I still need a separate AI visibility tool if my SEO tool tracks AI prompts?

For one site, usually not. SE Ranking tracks 100 AI prompts on Core, Semrush 50 on Starter, and Morningscore 100 on Business. A dedicated tool is worth it when AI visibility is the main job, when you track several brands, or when you need more engines. The AI visibility guide covers those tools.

Which SEO tool is cheapest if I also want AI search tracking?

Billed annually, for one site with real prompt tracking: Morningscore is $82.50/month billed annually, SE Ranking $103.20/month billed annually, Search Atlas $159/month billed annually and Semrush $165.17/month billed annually. Ahrefs is $208/month billed annually for a plan that tracks only 10 prompts. Nightwatch is €79/month billed annually, in euros. Monthly billing costs more at every vendor.

Which of these track ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?

SE Ranking tracks AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Semrush tracks ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity from Starter. Morningscore tracks Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. Search Atlas tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode on Growth, and adds Copilot and Perplexity on Pro. Surfer's Standard plan tracks ChatGPT only, and Pro adds Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overview and Gemini. Nightwatch's pricing page shows its AI platforms as icons without naming them. Ahrefs tracks a small number of prompts on every paid plan.

What does AI tracking cost on top of the base plan?

It depends on the vendor. SE Ranking includes it in Core, so there's no extra cost. Semrush's SEO plan tracks no prompts, so you either move up to Starter at $199/month billed monthly or add the AI Visibility Toolkit at $99/month billed monthly. Search Atlas has none on Starter. Ahrefs includes a small number on every paid plan.

Can I try these tools before paying?

SE Ranking offers a 14-day trial. Morningscore offers 14 days and Nightwatch 14 days, both with no card. Semrush has a 7-day trial and a limited free plan. Search Atlas has a 7-day trial. Surfer's 7-day trial needs a card. Ahrefs has no trial, only a free account with limited data.

Do I need SEO experience to use these tools?

A little. You should know what a keyword, a title tag and a broken link are, because these suites hand you lists of issues and don't judge which ones matter for a small site. The AI side is newer: you choose the questions your customers might ask ChatGPT, and the tool shows whether your brand gets named. Morningscore is the simplest start. If you would rather skip the work, an AI SEO autopilot is a different kind of product.
