Best rank tracking software for one website

By Joonas Rotko, ex-agency co-owner, 10+ years spending real marketing budgets

Prices verified · How I choose, and how I earn from this page

If you want rankings plus keyword research and site audits in one subscription, I'd start with SE Ranking. It tracks daily and costs $103.20/month billed annually for one site. If you only want to watch positions, Keyword.com costs $18/month billed annually on weekly updates. Every price here was verified 2 Oct 2026.

Every price on this page is for

  • 1 site
  • 250 tracked keywords
  • 1 user

Who this is for. Small business owners and solo marketers who want to see where one website ranks on Google and how that moves, and who pay for the tool themselves. These tools report positions. Choosing which keywords to watch, and deciding what to change on the page when one slips, stays your job.

The tools side by side

Each row is the cheapest plan that covers one site and the keyword list this guide prices, worked out for monthly and annual billing separately. Keyword.com's row is its weekly-update price: daily updates for the same keyword package are a separate, higher price, so don't read that row as daily tracking.

Six picks, in the order I'd consider them

Each one says who it is for, what it costs for one site, and what you give up.

SE Ranking logo

SE Ranking

Tracker inside a full suite

Hands-on

Choose it if

You want rank tracking now and keyword research, audits and AI search tracking in the same subscription later.

Consider Keyword.com instead if

You only want to watch positions. Keyword.com costs $18/month billed annually on weekly updates, because you don't pay for a toolbox you won't open.

Why it fits one site

Core tracks up to 2,000 keywords across 10 sites with daily updates, so one small site never gets near a limit. Google AI Overview tracking and 100 AI prompts are on the same plan, so you don't need a second tool for AI search.

The plan I priced

I priced Core at $129/month billed monthly, or $103.20/month billed annually. Growth is only needed past 10 sites or 2,000 tracked keywords.

Closest alternative

Nightwatch becomes the better choice when you want a tracker that is built around rankings and AI prompts rather than a suite, and a euro price list suits you.

One site: Core

Billed annually

$103.20/mo

Billed monthly

$129/mo

Above 10 sites: Growth (+$120/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

You pay for the whole toolbox. If positions are all you check, most of this plan sits unused, and it costs well above Keyword.com's weekly tracker.
What my review says

Best for: Small businesses and solo marketers who want rank tracking now, with keyword research, audits and AI search tracking in the same plan later.

Skip it if positions are all you check and you would be paying for a toolbox you never open.

Strengths

  • Daily tracking for 2,000 keywords across 10 projects on the entry plan.
  • Google AI Overview tracking and 100 AI prompts on the same plan.
  • A 14-day trial, no card needed.

Limits

  • Rank tracking is a small part of what the price covers.
  • The subscription page states payments are non-refundable.
  • Core keeps 6 months of history.

Tracking plus AI prompts

Desk research

Choose it if

You want rank tracking as the main job, with AI prompt tracking next to it, and you don't mind a euro price list.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

You also want keyword research and site audits in the same plan, and prefer to pay in dollars.

Why it fits one site

Starter checks rankings daily for up to 500 keywords across 5 sites, and adds 50 AI prompts. It prices by keywords tracked, not by logins, so adding a freelancer or a colleague costs nothing extra. The trial is 14 days and needs no card.

The plan I priced

I priced Starter, in euros, at €99/month billed monthly, or €79/month billed annually. The next plan up, Professional, adds white label reports and API access.

Closest alternative

Wincher becomes the better choice when you want a plainer tracker with a refund window, also priced in euros.

One site: Starter

Billed annually

€79/mo

Billed monthly

€99/mo

Above 5 sites: Professional (+€80/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

Starter has no white label reports and no API access, and the pricing page states no refund terms. Nightwatch prices only in euros, so I never compare its price with the dollar-priced tools.
What my review says

Best for: One small site that wants daily rank tracking with AI prompt tracking next to it, priced in euros.

Skip it if you only check a handful of keywords now and then, or you want a stated refund guarantee.

Strengths

  • Daily checks on every plan, with on-demand checks on top.
  • 50 AI prompts on the entry plan, in the same subscription as rank tracking.
  • Priced by keywords tracked, not by team size.

Limits

  • The entry plan has no white label reports and no API access.
  • The pricing page states no refund terms.
  • Competitor tracking is capped at 5 per site on Starter.

Keyword.com

Desk research

Choose it if

You track a short list of keywords, weekly updates are enough, and you want the lowest price to start.

Consider Nightwatch instead if

You want daily updates without watching the bill. On Keyword.com daily updates are a separate, higher price for the same keyword package.

Why it fits one site

Keyword.com is priced by the package you pick, so your cost follows your keyword list instead of a plan that includes room you won't use. Projects and users are unlimited, and the trial is 14 days with no card.

The plan I priced

The card shows the weekly price, not a daily one. I priced the Google rank tracking plan on weekly updates for a keyword package that covers the workload, at $22/month billed monthly, or $18/month billed annually. Daily updates for the same package are a separate, higher price, so tracking daily does not cost what the card says. My keyword research guide prices a smaller Keyword.com package, so the two guides show different numbers. AI visibility is a separate plan on a separate credit dropdown, and I didn't price it.

Closest alternative

Wincher becomes the better choice when you want daily updates as standard rather than as a paid upgrade.

One site: Search Visibility

Billed annually

$18/mo

Billed monthly

$22/mo

Above 500 tracked keywords: 360° Visibility (+$8/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

The price I show is for weekly updates. Daily updates for the same package cost more, and the pricing page is a dropdown that reprices each time you change it, so check your own package and update frequency before you commit.
What my review says

Best for: A small site with a short keyword list that wants the cheapest weekly tracker and can scale one dropdown at a time.

Skip it if you want daily checks on a long keyword list without watching the bill climb.

Strengths

  • Projects and users are unlimited on every plan.
  • You pay for the keyword package you pick, so a short list stays cheap.
  • A 14-day trial with no card.

Limits

  • Daily updates are a separate, higher price for the same keyword package.
  • Which plan covers Google AI Overview tracking isn't stated on the pricing page.
  • No free plan is shown, only a trial.

Mangools logo

Mangools

Simple SERPWatcher

Hands-on

Choose it if

You want keyword research and rank tracking together in a tool that is easy to learn, and weekly updates are enough.

Consider Wincher instead if

You need daily updates and don't want to pay for the top Mangools plan to get them.

Why it fits one site

Basic tracks 200 keywords and Premium tracks 700, both with weekly updates. Keyword research sits in the same subscription, and there is a free plan to look around first.

The plan I priced

I priced Premium, because Basic stops at 200 tracked keywords, at $81/month billed monthly, or $52.70/month billed annually. If your list fits inside Basic, it costs less.

Closest alternative

Seobility becomes the better choice when you care more about site audits than keyword research, and a euro price list suits you.

One site: Mangools Premium

Billed annually

$52.70/mo

Billed monthly

$81/mo

Above 700 tracked keywords: Mangools Agency (+$45/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

Daily tracking only comes on Agency. On Basic and Premium rankings refresh weekly, and the refund window is only 48 hours.
What my review says

Best for: Keyword research and rank tracking in one easy tool, when weekly updates are enough.

Skip it if you need daily updates without paying for the top plan, or site auditing is the main job.

Strengths

  • Keyword research, rank tracking and an AI Search Watcher in one subscription.
  • A free plan separate from Basic.
  • Rank tracking covers unlimited domains.

Limits

  • Daily updates come only on Agency, so Basic and Premium refresh weekly.
  • Refunds only within 48 hours of paying.
  • Basic tracks 200 keywords, so a longer list needs Premium.

Seobility logo

Seobility

Tracking in a platform with a free plan

Hands-on

Choose it if

You want to start free, you care about site audits as much as rankings, and a euro price list suits you.

Consider SE Ranking instead if

You want daily rankings on mobile as well as desktop. On Seobility, mobile rankings don't update daily.

Why it fits one site

Premium tracks 300 keywords across 3 projects with Google AI Overview tracking, and the free Basic plan lets you see the product on your own site first. Site audits are where Seobility is strongest.

The plan I priced

I priced Premium, in euros, at €59.90/month billed monthly, or €47.92/month billed annually. Seobility also publishes a separate dollar price list. I use the euro list only and never convert between the two.

Closest alternative

Mangools becomes the better choice when keyword research matters more to you than audits, and you want dollar pricing.

Above 3 sites: Premium with Additional project (+€14.90/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

Seobility's schedule is: Desktop daily (first two Google pages); mobile every three days. Positions deeper than that come as a periodic snapshot, so look elsewhere if you want daily mobile rankings or daily depth.
What my review says

Best for: One site that wants rank tracking next to site audits, a free plan to start on and a euro price list.

Skip it if you want daily mobile rankings, or live multi-engine AI prompt tracking today.

Strengths

  • A free Basic plan with no card needed.
  • Google AI Overview tracking from Premium.
  • A 14-day trial on paid plans.

Limits

  • Daily updates cover desktop rankings only, not mobile.
  • Premium stops at 3 projects and 300 keywords.
  • AI prompt tracking is announced but not on sale yet.

Choose it if

You want a plain rank tracker with daily updates and nothing else to learn, and a euro price list suits you.

Consider Nightwatch instead if

You want AI prompt tracking next to rankings. Wincher doesn't publish Google AI Overview tracking.

Why it fits one site

Basic tracks up to 500 keywords across 10 sites with daily updates. The trial is 7 days and the refund window is 7 days, the only refund window in days on this list.

The plan I priced

I priced Basic, in euros, at €49/month billed monthly, or €41/month billed annually. Wincher has no public free plan, only a trial.

What my review says

Best for: One small site that wants daily rankings and a plain tracker with a refund window.

Skip it if you want AI search tracking, or white label reports and API access on the cheapest plan.

What one site really costs

The same site and keyword list on every plan, with one difference to keep in mind: the Keyword.com and Mangools plans update weekly, the others daily. The bar is the annual-billing price per month.

Other currencies are not converted to dollars and are not compared with the bars above.

How I calculated this

Workload: 1 site, 250 tracked keywords, 1 user.

Other options, and why they missed the list

I kept this list short on purpose. A tool has to track positions for your own site, publish its plan limits, and fit one small site without agency pricing. Suites that include a tracker are in my SEO software guide, and tools that only track AI answers are in my AI visibility guide.

How I chose, and how I earn from this page

    Joonas Rotko

    Who is behind this guide

    Joonas Rotko

I co-ran a marketing agency in Finland and spent more than ten years buying SEO and marketing software with real client budgets. I write these guides for the person who has to pay for the tool and use it.

More about me and how I review

    Affiliate disclosure

I may be paid when you buy through some of the links on this page, at no extra cost to you. My shortlist starts from tools that track rankings for one small website and that I can price from the vendor's own page. I have an affiliate link for every tool here except Wincher. When two tools fit about equally, the one with an affiliate link goes first, which is why Wincher sits last. Wincher is on the list for daily updates on every plan and a refund window. Prices and verdicts come from the vendor's pages and my own notes, whichever way a link goes.

    How this guide was prepared

    What I did

    • Every plan price and limit comes from the vendor's own pricing page, and the Sources list shows the link and the date I checked it. Each figure appears the same way in the intro, table, cards and FAQ.
    • The workload is one site and a short keyword list. Each card shows the cheapest plan whose published site and keyword limits cover it, priced once for monthly billing and once for annual billing.
    • Update frequency is shown as the vendor states it, because it changes what a price buys: Keyword.com's price is for weekly updates, Mangools updates daily only on its top plan, and Seobility separates desktop from mobile.
    • Nightwatch, Seobility and Wincher price in euros, so those prices stay in euros and are never ranked against or subtracted from the dollar prices.
    • The Hands-on and Desk research labels say what my notes on each tool rest on: my own use of the product, or the vendor's published plans and documentation.

    What to keep in mind

    • Vendors change plans without notice. The date next to each source is the day I last checked it.
    • Keyword.com's card price is for weekly updates only. Its daily-update price for the same keyword package is separate and higher.
    • Update frequency differs by plan at Mangools and by device at Seobility, so the table shows what the priced plan does.
    • Wincher doesn't publish AI Overview tracking, and Nightwatch lists AI prompts without saying which engines it covers, so I count only what each vendor lists.
    Sources and verification dates

Prices and limits checked on 9 vendor pages. Oldest check: 29 Sep 2026.

    • : First version: a ranked list of rank trackers for one site, built from verified plan facts, with costs worked out for monthly and annual billing.

    Questions people ask

How much does rank tracking software cost for one website?

For one site, the dollar-priced tools run from $18/month billed annually for Keyword.com (weekly updates, daily costs more) to $103.20/month billed annually for SE Ranking (daily updates, plus a full toolbox). Mangools is $52.70/month billed annually. Nightwatch, Seobility and Wincher price in euros: Nightwatch at €79/month billed annually, Seobility at €47.92/month billed annually and Wincher at €41/month billed annually. Monthly billing costs more at every tool.

How many keywords do I need to track?

Fewer than most people think. A small business usually needs its main service terms, its location variations and a handful of phrases its competitors target, not thousands. This guide prices a list sized for that. For reference, Mangools Basic tracks 200 keywords, Seobility Premium 300, Nightwatch Starter 500 and SE Ranking Core 2,000.

Do I need daily rank updates, or is weekly enough?

For one small site, weekly is enough for most decisions, because rankings rarely need a same-day reaction. Daily updates help when you are testing changes, running a launch or watching a volatile term. Daily is standard at SE Ranking, Nightwatch and Wincher. Keyword.com sells weekly as the cheaper default and daily as a higher price. Mangools tracks weekly on Basic and Premium, and daily only on Agency. Seobility's schedule is: Desktop daily (first two Google pages); mobile every three days.

Can these tools track Google AI Overviews and AI search?

Some can. SE Ranking tracks Google AI Overviews and 100 AI prompts on Core. Nightwatch includes 50 AI prompts on Starter. Seobility tracks Google AI Overviews on Premium, though its AI prompt tracking isn't on sale yet. Keyword.com lists Google AI Overviews and several AI assistants, but AI visibility is its own plan on its own pricing. Mangools includes an AI Search Watcher with 500 prompts on every paid plan. Wincher doesn't publish AI tracking. If AI answers are your main interest, my guide to AI visibility tools covers that job.

Can I try a rank tracker before paying?

SE Ranking offers a 14-day trial. Nightwatch and Keyword.com each have a 14-day trial with no card. Wincher has a 7-day trial and a 7-day refund. Seobility has a free Basic plan and a 14-day trial on paid plans. Mangools has a free plan.

Do I need SEO experience to use a rank tracker?

Enough to choose keywords that match how customers search, and to read what a position moving up or down means. A tracker tells you a page slipped; it doesn't tell you whether to rewrite the page, fix a title or wait. Expect to check rankings on a regular rhythm. If that habit is the part you won't keep, an AI SEO autopilot does the content work instead.

Is Google Search Console enough instead of a rank tracker?

Search Console is free and shows the average position of your own pages for the queries that already bring impressions. A rank tracker checks the keywords you choose, including ones you don't rank for yet, and keeps competitors beside your own site. Use Search Console either way. If you only want free tools, my free SEO tools guide is the place to start.
