6 best LowFruits alternatives without a per-keyword credit meter

By Joonas Rotko, ex-agency co-owner, 11+ years spending real marketing budgets

Prices verified · How I choose, and how I earn from this page

If you're tired of watching a credit balance, I'd start with Mangools. Basic gives you 100 keyword lookups and 100 SERP checks a day for $37.70/month billed annually, so one heavy research day can't drain the month. LowFruits Standard is $20.75/month billed annually and spends a credit on every keyword it analyses. KeySearch is the cheaper flat allowance. Prices checked 29 Sep 2026.

Prices below are for one site and weekly keyword research. LowFruits itself isn't priced here:

  • One small site
  • Weekly keyword research
  • One user

Who this is for. Owners and solo marketers who like what LowFruits finds but not how it charges. On Standard every analysed keyword costs a credit, the 3,000 monthly credits don't roll over, and the tracker holds 100 keywords. This page is for you if you'd rather know on day one what a month of research will cost.

What you gain and give up by leaving LowFruits

LowFruits charges by the analysed keyword: searching is free on a subscription, but pulling a keyword's results page costs a credit. Every tool below swaps that meter for a fixed plan price, and Mangools and KeySearch for an allowance that resets daily.

What you gain

  • No credit meter: KeySearch Starter resets 200 searches every day and Mangools Basic resets 100 SERP checks a day, so one busy afternoon can't empty your balance for the month.
  • A bigger rank tracker: Mangools Basic follows 200 keywords and SE Ranking Core 2,000, where LowFruits Standard stops at 100.
  • AI answer tracking, which LowFruits doesn't publish: Mangools includes 500 AI prompts and SE Ranking Core 100.

What you give up

  • The weak-site filter itself. LowFruits flags results pages where weak sites already rank. The others give you a difficulty score and leave the judgement to you.
  • Pay-as-you-go packs. If you research only a few times a year, a one-off LowFruits credit pack with no subscription can cost less than any plan here.
  • Unlimited keyword searches. On a subscription LowFruits only charges when you analyse a keyword, while KeySearch and Mangools count every lookup against the daily cap.

When to stay. Stay if your credits usually last the month and the weak-site filter is the reason you open the tool. Nothing on this list finds those keywords as directly.

The tools side by side

Each row is the cheapest paid plan for weekly keyword research on one site. Allowances are per day, per month or in credits, so I don't line them up in one column.

Six picks, in the order I'd consider them

Each one says who it is for, what it costs for weekly keyword research, and what you give up.

Mangools logo

Mangools

Simplest swap, free plan

Hands-on

Choose it if

You keep rationing LowFruits credits and want an allowance that refills every day, plus a free plan to test it.

Consider Keysearch instead if

A flat daily allowance is all you need and you want to pay less than Mangools Basic.

Why it fits weekly keyword research

Basic allows 100 keyword lookups and 100 SERP analyses a day, the step LowFruits charges a credit for. It tracks 200 keywords against 100 on LowFruits Standard, and adds 500 AI prompts.

The plan I priced

Basic: $61/month billed monthly, or $37.70/month billed annually.

Closest alternative

Keysearch becomes the better choice when price matters more to you than the bigger tracker and the AI prompts.

Weekly keyword research: Mangools Basic

Billed annually

$37.70/mo

Billed monthly

$61/mo

Next step up, Mangools Premium: $52.70/mo annual, 500 keyword research requests per day

Move up if one research session regularly uses up the day's lookups.

Above 100 keyword research requests per day: Mangools Premium (+$15/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

Basic costs more than LowFruits Standard, and the gap is widest on monthly billing. Refunds close after 48 hours, against 14 days at LowFruits.
What my review says

Best for: A LowFruits user who wants SERP checks without spending credits, and a bigger tracker.

Skip it if the weak-site filter is the reason you use LowFruits.

Strengths

  • SERP analyses come from a daily allowance, so a heavy week can't empty a monthly balance.
  • Tracks twice as many keywords as LowFruits Standard and adds AI prompt tracking.

Limits

  • Nothing built around spotting weak sites in the results. You read the difficulty score and judge it yourself.
  • Costs more than LowFruits Standard, with a much shorter refund window.

Keysearch

Cheaper daily allowance

Hands-on

Choose it if

You research a little most days and want the bill to stay the same however many keywords you analyse.

Consider Mangools instead if

You want SERP analyses counted apart from lookups and a bigger rank tracker.

Why it fits weekly keyword research

Starter resets 200 keyword searches every day and costs less than LowFruits Standard on either billing. It adds a site auditor and backlink checks, which LowFruits doesn't list, and a 7-day trial.

The plan I priced

Starter: $24/month billed monthly, or $20/month billed annually.

Closest alternative

Mangools becomes the better choice when you'd pay more to track more keywords and follow AI answers.

Next step up, Pro: $40/mo annual, 500 keyword searches per day

Move up if you hit the daily cap on research days. Pro also adds Foresight.

Above 200 keyword searches per day: Pro (+$20/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

The tracker is smaller than the one you're leaving: 80 keywords on Starter, against 100 on LowFruits Standard. There is no free plan either.
What my review says

Best for: A LowFruits user who wants a fixed daily allowance at a similar or lower price.

Skip it if you need a bigger rank tracker than LowFruits already gives you.

Strengths

  • Searches reset daily, so there is no balance to watch.
  • A site auditor and backlink checks come in the same plan.

Limits

  • Starter tracks fewer keywords than LowFruits Standard.
  • No AI prompt tracking is published.

Semrush

Biggest toolbox

Hands-on

Choose it if

Credits were one frustration among several and you're ready for competitor research, audits and tracking in one place.

Consider Keysearch instead if

You only want the credit meter gone. KeySearch does that for a fraction of Semrush's price.

Why it fits weekly keyword research

The SEO plan covers 5 sites and tracks 500 keywords daily, five times what LowFruits Standard tracks, with a 7-day trial and a limited free plan.

The plan I priced

SEO plan: $139.95/month billed monthly, or $117.33/month billed annually. Refunds are only available on annual plans.

Closest alternative

SE Ranking becomes the better choice when you want suite-sized limits and AI prompts on a lower bill.

Above 500 tracked keywords: Pro+ (+$130.84/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

You'd pay several times LowFruits Standard, and the SEO plan has no AI prompt tracking.
What my review says

Best for: A LowFruits user who is adding sites and wants competitor data alongside keyword research.

Skip it if you only want to stop counting credits.

Strengths

  • Tracks five times as many keywords as LowFruits Standard, with daily rank checks.
  • Competitor, audit and backlink tools sit in the same account.

Limits

  • Costs several times what LowFruits Standard does.
  • No AI prompt tracking on the SEO plan.

SE Ranking

Full suite, for when research becomes tracking and audits

Hands-on

Choose it if

You now track more keywords than LowFruits' tracker holds and want audits in the same account.

Consider Keysearch instead if

All you want is a flat allowance, for a fraction of the price.

Why it fits weekly keyword research

Core tracks 2,000 keywords across 10 projects, against 100 on LowFruits Standard, and adds 100 AI prompts, site audits and backlink data. The 14-day trial needs no card.

The plan I priced

Core: $129/month billed monthly, or $103.20/month billed annually.

Closest alternative

Semrush becomes the better choice when you want deeper competitor data and don't mind paying more.

The trade-off

The bill is several times LowFruits Standard, and once you've paid there are no refunds.
What my review says

Best for: A LowFruits user whose keyword list has outgrown a small tracker.

Skip it if finding low-competition keywords is still the whole job.

Strengths

  • A tracker many times larger than LowFruits Standard's, with daily rank checks.
  • AI prompts, audits and backlinks on the entry plan.

Limits

  • Several times the price of LowFruits Standard.
  • No refund once you have paid, and no free plan.

Answer Socrates

Questions and topic ideas, cheaply

Desk research

Choose it if

You mostly used LowFruits for blog topic ideas and want to spend less.

Consider Keysearch instead if

You analyse keywords most days. Lite counts searches per month, so it runs out the way a credit pool does.

Why it fits weekly keyword research

The free plan gives 3 searches a day without a card, and Lite costs less than LowFruits Standard on either billing while adding volume and competition data.

The plan I priced

Lite: $19/month billed monthly, or $15.83/month billed annually.

Closest alternative

Keysearch becomes the better choice when you want the allowance to reset daily, plus a site auditor.

Move up if Lite's monthly searches run out before the month does.

Above 100 keyword lookups: Seneca (+$16.67/mo billed annually).

The trade-off

Lite's 100 searches are a monthly allowance, so it shares the problem you're leaving: a busy week can use up the month.
What my review says

Best for: A LowFruits user who mainly needs question and topic ideas on a tight budget.

Skip it if a monthly cap is exactly what you're trying to get away from.

Strengths

  • A free plan with daily searches and no card.
  • Paid plans cost less than LowFruits Standard.

Limits

  • Paid allowances are monthly, much like LowFruits credits.
  • No weak-site filter and no rank tracker.

Keyword.com logo

Keyword.com

Cheap tracking for the keywords you've chosen

Desk research

Choose it if

You'll keep a separate tool for discovery and only need a bigger tracker than LowFruits Standard has.

Consider Mangools instead if

You want discovery and tracking in one subscription. Keyword.com tracks keywords, it doesn't find new ones.

Why it fits weekly keyword research

The smallest weekly package starts at $4/month billed monthly, and packages go up to 500 keywords, against 100 on LowFruits Standard. The 14-day trial needs no card.

The plan I priced

Search Visibility, smallest package with weekly updates: $4/month billed monthly, or $3/month billed annually. The price follows the keyword count you choose.

Closest alternative

Mangools becomes the better choice when you'd rather pay one bill for finding and tracking keywords.

Weekly keyword research: Search Visibility

Billed annually

$3/mo

Billed monthly

$4/mo

The trade-off

It finds nothing new, so on its own it doesn't replace LowFruits. Switching a package to daily updates multiplies its price.
What my review says

Best for: A LowFruits user who needs a bigger rank tracker and finds keywords elsewhere.

Skip it if you want one tool to both find and track keywords.

Strengths

  • Tracks far more keywords than LowFruits Standard from a very low entry price.
  • Unlimited projects and users, with an API on the entry plan.

Limits

  • No keyword discovery, so it can't replace LowFruits alone.
  • Daily updates raise the price several times over.

What weekly keyword research really costs

Each bar is a tool's cheapest paid plan, not the same amount of research, so a shorter bar means a lower entry price, not more keywords for less.

Dollar prices, per month (billed annually where sold)

Pay monthly or yearly?

What yearly billing saves on the same plan.

  • Mangools$61 monthly, $37.70 yearly: 38% less
  • Keysearch$24 monthly, $20 yearly: 17% less
  • Semrush$139.95 monthly, $117.33 yearly: 16% less
  • SE Ranking$129 monthly, $103.20 yearly: 20% less
  • Answer Socrates$19 monthly, $15.83 yearly: 17% less
  • Keyword.com$4 monthly, $3 yearly: 25% less

When you'll outgrow the plan

The first limit you hit, and the next plan up.

  • Mangools: above 100 keyword research requests per day, Mangools Premium (+$15/mo)
  • Keysearch: above 200 keyword searches per day, Pro (+$20/mo)
  • Semrush: above 500 tracked keywords, Pro+ (+$130.84/mo)
  • SE Ranking: above 10 sites, Growth (+$120/mo)
  • Answer Socrates: above 100 keyword lookups, Seneca (+$16.67/mo)
How I calculated this

Workload: One small site, Weekly keyword research, One user.

Vendors count lookups per day, per month or as credits spent when a keyword's results are analysed, so I don't convert one into another.

Other options, and why they missed the list

I kept the list to tools with a fixed plan price that cover keyword research or tracking for one small site, so nothing here bills per analysed keyword. Backlink-first tools answer a different question from "what do I move to from LowFruits".

    • Ahrefs logo

      Ahrefs

No credits to watch, but it costs far more than LowFruits, has no trial, and I have no affiliate link with it.

    • Ubersuggest logo

      Ubersuggest

A budget suite with keyword research, site audits and an AI writer, but nothing like LowFruits' weak-site filter.

    Joonas Rotko

    Affiliate disclosure

Some of these links are affiliate links, and I earn a commission if you buy through them, at no cost to you. That never moves a price or a verdict. Order follows fit for this reader first, and where two tools fit about equally the affiliate partner goes first. Every pick here has an affiliate link, and the order follows fit for someone leaving LowFruits.

    How this guide was prepared

    What I did

    • I priced weekly keyword research for one site from vendor pricing pages, checked on the date beside each source link.
    • LowFruits counts credits, the others count lookups per day or per month. I quote each allowance in the vendor's own words and never convert credits into lookups.
    • LowFruits is the tool being left, so its price and credits appear for comparison but it isn't ranked.
    • Cards marked Hands-on are tools I use. Cards marked desk research are based on published plans.

    What to keep in mind

    • Vendors change prices without notice, so confirm on the vendor's page.
    • LowFruits credits reset monthly and don't roll over, which is why a daily allowance can suit someone who researches steadily.
    Sources and verification dates

Prices and limits checked on 12 vendor pages. Oldest check: 15 Oct 2026.

    Questions people ask

    Why would I leave LowFruits?

Mostly the credits. Each analysed keyword costs one, the monthly allowance doesn't roll over, and a heavy research week can use it up. The tracker also stops at 100 keywords on Standard, and LowFruits publishes no AI prompt tracking.

What is the cheapest LowFruits alternative?

Keyword.com is cheapest at $3/month billed annually, but it only tracks keywords. For research, Answer Socrates Lite is $15.83/month billed annually with a monthly cap, and KeySearch Starter is $20/month billed annually with a daily one. LowFruits Standard is $20.75/month billed annually.

Which alternative has a free plan?

Mangools and Answer Socrates have free plans, so you can test them before your LowFruits renewal. Semrush has a limited free plan. KeySearch offers a 7-day trial and Keyword.com a 14-day trial without a card.

    Which finds easy keywords?

None of them filters for weak sites the way LowFruits does. Mangools and KeySearch both show a difficulty score beside each keyword, which is the closest substitute for a small site.

Can I use LowFruits without a subscription?

Yes. Pay-as-you-go credit packs need no subscription and expire after a year, though the rank tracker and Domain Explorer are subscription only. If you research only a few times a year, that can beat every plan here.
