How this review was prepared

This is a research-based review. I checked Moosend's current product pages, pricing, documentation and terms, then assessed what those published limits mean for a marketing team or small agency. I have not presented vendor claims as personal testing.

Moosend's own homepage now sits beside a Constant Contact card, which reflects the company's June 2025 acquisition by Constant Contact.

The Verdict

Is Moosend right for you?

Moosend is an email marketing and automation platform that sells one main plan, Pro, priced by contact count, plus a custom Moosend+ plan and an Enterprise plan. Its pricing page says it is now a Constant Contact company.

Pro costs $9/month at 500 contacts billed monthly, $48 at 5,000, $88 at 10,000, $160 at 25,000 and $624 at 100,000, with unlimited sends, automation, landing pages, forms and five team members. Biannual billing takes 15% off and annual billing 20% off.

It fits a small team that wants unlimited sends and automation at a low entry price. It fits poorly when you need transactional email or a dedicated IP included, since those sit in add-ons or higher plans.

Who It's For

Who Moosend is for (and who it isn't)

✓ Best for

  • +
Small businesses that want automation without feature tiers. Pro includes the automation workflow builder, multi-step workflows, pre-built recipes, landing pages, forms and A/B testing in one plan, with unlimited email sends.
  • +
Ecommerce senders who want product and browse tracking. The tracking table lists product views, carts, purchases and custom events, and the automation table lists triggers such as "when someone browses any page" and "views any product".
  • +
Occasional senders who want pay-as-you-go credits. Moosend sells email credits, one per email to one recipient, that never expire, which suits a business that sends a few times a year.

× Consider something else if

  • −
You need a permanent free plan. Moosend offers a 30-day free trial, not a free plan. The trial gives unlimited sends for up to 1,000 contacts and one published workflow.Try MailerLite →
  • −
You want a broader platform now under the same owner. Constant Contact acquired Moosend in June 2025. A team that wants events, social and SMS tools should look at the parent's own product.Try Constant Contact →
  • −
You send transactional email and marketing email together. Moosend supports transactional email through SMTP and API, but the plan comparison lists it as an add-on on Moosend+. A platform that includes transactional sending plainly is simpler.Try Brevo →

What You Can Do

What can Moosend do?

Build a welcome and abandoned-browse automation

The workflow builder combines triggers, conditions and actions, with pre-built recipes and browse and product-view triggers. The free trial publishes one workflow, and the paid plans list no such cap.

Send a campaign with AI help

The trial includes the email builder, templates, AI Writer, segmentation and landing page and form design. The reporting table lists heatmaps, spam analysis, A/B testing and Google Analytics tracking.

Recommend products in emails

Pro lists AI-engine product recommendations and conditional content blocks, so an email can change by what a shopper viewed.

Send occasional campaigns with credits

Buy credits when you need them, one credit per email to one recipient. Moosend notifies you at 80% usage, and unused credits do not expire.

AI, API & MCP

Does Moosend Have an MCP Server, API and AI Features?

Moosend is usable by agents through its API. There is no official MCP server.

AI agent workflow

A safe agent workflow

Use an agent to draft copy and read campaign stats through the API, while keeping the tight per-endpoint limits in mind.

Approval boundary: Keep campaign sends, list changes and workflow publishing behind a human click.

MCP

none

No official MCP server

Only third-party connectors exist, and their coverage depends on the bridging platform.

API

official

REST API with per-endpoint rate limits

Rate limits are set by endpoint and API key, and the docs list them in a table.

Pricing

How much does Moosend cost?

Moosend Pro starts at $9/month at 500 contacts on monthly billing ($8 biannual, $7 annual), with a 30-day free trial and no credit card.

Check Moosend's current pricing →

Moosend prices Pro by contact count and counts unique email addresses, so a subscriber on several lists is billed once. Three billing modes exist: monthly, biannual (15% off) and annual (20% off, paid once a year). Nonprofits get a further 25% off. Prices below are in USD, read from the pricing calculator on the date of this review.

Price the contact ladder

Monthly billing reads $9 (500), $16 (1,000), $24 (2,000), $32 (3,000), $48 (5,000), $64 (8,000), $88 (10,000), $160 (25,000), $315 (50,000), $416 (75,000), $624 (100,000), $936 (150,000), $1,216 (200,000), $1,520 (250,000), $2,896 (500,000) and $5,840 (1,000,000). Biannual billing is 15% lower, for example $75 at 10,000 and $268 at 50,000.

Add-ons sit outside Pro

Moosend+ is a custom plan on top of Pro. Transactional emails, hosted files, CC/BCC, audience discovery, custom reports, SSO and SAML, extra team members, a dedicated IP and an account manager are listed as add-ons there, and Enterprise includes 10+ team members and an SLA.

Going over your contact limit means upgrading

Moosend shows a banner and asks you to upgrade rather than sending you a bill for overage. Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle.

The trial is limited

The 30-day trial gives unlimited sends for up to 1,000 contacts, 2 team members, one published workflow and one unpublished form and landing page. No card is needed.

Alternatives

When I'd choose something else

Three different buying priorities, and what I'd pick instead for each one.

If you want a permanent free plan

MailerLite logo

MailerLite

MailerLite has a free plan and simple subscriber-based tiers for small senders.

Trade-off: Check its automation and send limits against Moosend's unlimited sends on Pro.

Explore MailerLite for this use case →

If you want the parent company's broader platform

Constant Contact logo

Constant Contact

Constant Contact bought Moosend and sells its own email platform in Lite, Standard and Premium tiers.

Trade-off: It gates features by tier, where Moosend puts them in one Pro plan.

Explore Constant Contact for this use case →

If you want transactional and marketing email together

Brevo logo

Brevo

Brevo covers marketing email, transactional email and other channels in one platform.

Trade-off: It has more to configure, and sending volume plays a bigger role in its pricing.

Downsides

Limitations to consider before subscribing

!

Price climbs steeply with contacts

Monthly Pro reaches $160 at 25,000 contacts, $315 at 50,000 and $624 at 100,000. Annual billing lowers that by 20%.

!

Ownership change adds uncertainty

Constant Contact acquired Moosend in June 2025, and the pricing page carries a Constant Contact line. The roadmap and pricing after the acquisition are not documented on the pages I read.

!

Transactional email is not clearly part of Pro

Moosend supports transactional email through SMTP and API, but the plan table lists it as an add-on on Moosend+. Confirm before you rely on it.

!

No official MCP and tight API limits

There is no vendor MCP server, and endpoint limits such as 2 campaign-stat calls per minute constrain reporting scripts.

!

Refund terms are not on the pricing page

I could not read Moosend's refund terms, so treat prepaid plans as non-refundable until you confirm.

My Recommendation

Should You Choose Moosend?

Shortlist Moosend if you want unlimited sends, automation and landing pages on one plan and your list is under about 25,000 contacts.

Choose MailerLite for a free plan, Constant Contact for the parent's broader platform, or Brevo for marketing and transactional email together.

What to check during the trial

  • –Price your contact count on monthly, biannual and annual billing.
  • –Publish one workflow during the trial and check it against the trial's one-workflow cap.
  • –Ask whether transactional email is included in your plan or an add-on.
  • –Confirm refund and cancellation terms at checkout.
