This is a research-based review. I checked Mailjet's current pricing page, product pages and release notes and MCP documentation, then assessed what those published limits mean for a buyer. I have not presented vendor claims as personal testing.

Is Mailjet right for you?
Mailjet, owned by Sinch, is a volume-priced email platform that covers marketing campaigns and transactional sending through the same account and API.
Free covers 6,000 emails a month with a 200-a-day cap. Paid plans read Starter $9, Essential $19 and Premium $29 on the pricing page I could read, and automation sits on Premium. There is an official MCP server for Claude.
It fits developers and small teams sending mixed marketing and transactional email. It fits poorly when you want rich list-based automation on a low plan, since Premium is where automations start.

Mailjet prices by monthly email volume, and the plan sets features. The pricing page I read showed Free, Starter, Essential, Premium and a custom tier, with a currency selector. Many trackers still list Essential at $17 and Premium at $27, and a Mailjet help article announces a subscription pricing update on 9 September 2026 that I could not open. Treat $19 and $29 as current and re-check at your volume.
What each plan gates
Free: APIs, SMTP relay, editor, basic stats, 1,000 contacts. Starter adds brand kit, anonymous tracking, online support and one subaccount. Essential adds unlimited contacts, segmentation, AI content creation, 500 validations and 500 previews. Premium adds advanced statistics, automations, landing pages, 2,000 previews, team management and priority support.
Prices scale with email volume
Prices shown are for the entry volume of each plan. Higher monthly volumes cost more, and email credits do not roll over.
Recent price change
Trackers and Mailjet's earlier data show Essential at $17 and Premium at $27. The pricing page now shows $19 and $29, and a help article dated 9 September 2026 announces an update. Starter was reported unchanged.

Unused monthly email credits expire, which hurts irregular senders.
MCP needs a paid Claude account

Should You Choose Mailjet?
Shortlist Mailjet if you send marketing and transactional email together, want an API and SMTP relay, and prefer EU hosting.
Choose Moosend for cheaper automation, Brevo for a broader platform, or MailerLite for a simple newsletter builder.
What to check during the trial
