I spent 10+ years buying marketing software for my own agency and its clients, so I know which tools earn their monthly fee and which ones quietly drain it. Now I check the prices and the claims on this site myself.

The Verdict
Is ZeroRank right for you?
ChatGPT doesn't cite you and you have no idea why. ZeroRank tracks your brand across 17 AI platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, then tells you what to fix. It's not cheap, but it's built for teams who treat AI answers as a real acquisition channel.
ZeroRank is an AI search visibility platform that tracks how often your brand shows up when people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini for recommendations. It's built for marketing and growth teams who need daily tracking, competitor benchmarking, and a way to plug that data into Claude or Cursor via MCP.
Whether it's worth $76/month depends entirely on whether AI answers are already sending you traffic, or whether you're still betting they will.
The MCP server and REST API being available on every plan, not locked behind Enterprise, is the one decision that actually respects how marketing teams work in 2026.
Why I'm covering this
ZeroRank ships MCP server and API access on its cheapest plan, which most AI visibility tools gate behind Enterprise. That single pricing decision is why it earns a spot on my AI-stack fit radar.
Who It's For
Who ZeroRank is for (and who it isn't)
✓Best for
- +SaaS growth teams You're already tracking rankings in Google. ZeroRank adds the same discipline for ChatGPT and Perplexity, where your buyers increasingly research before they ever hit your site.
- +Agencies managing multiple client brands Unlimited seats and shareable client dashboards on every tier make this workable for a small agency running AI visibility reporting for several accounts at once.
- +Content teams building an AEO strategy The AEO score and AI article generation tools give writers a concrete target instead of guessing what makes a page citable.
- +Teams already building on Claude or Cursor MCP server access ships on Starter, not just Enterprise, so you can pull visibility data into your existing AI workflow without an upsell call.
✗Skip this if
- −Solo creators and bootstrapped founders $76/month to track a handful of prompts is a hard sell when you're one person and cash flow matters more than AI citation share.
- −Businesses chasing Google Maps or local pack rankings This tool tracks AI-generated answers, not local SEO signals. A local business owner needs a different kind of tool entirely.
- −Heavy content production teams Starter's 3 AI article generations and 3 content optimizations per month won't cover a team publishing weekly.
- −Anyone who wants a free forever plan There's a 7-day trial and no credit card required to start, but there's no free tier to fall back on afterward.

Features
What can ZeroRank do?
The prompt research feature is the part that actually earns ZeroRank its price. Instead of guessing what questions people ask AI about your category, it surfaces prompts backed by real AI search volume, then flags gaps where you should be showing up but aren't. Starter gets 15 of these research runs a month, Pro gets 50. That's a real ceiling to keep in mind if you're testing a new market or a new competitor set frequently.
Citation tracking is the other half of the puzzle. AI answers cite sources, and ZeroRank shows you which domains and pages get pulled most often when your prompts run. If your content never shows up in that list, that's a clear, specific signal about what to fix, not a vague 'improve your SEO' suggestion.
The content tools (AEO scoring, AI article generation, content optimization) are useful but capped hard on lower tiers. Three AI articles and three optimizations a month on Starter is fine for testing the workflow, but it won't carry a real content calendar. You'll want Pro or Enterprise if content production is the point.
What I'd flag as differentiated here is theMCP server access baked into every plan, including Starter. A lot of tools in this category gate API access behind their top tier. ZeroRank doesn't, which matters if you're already piping data between tools with Claude or Cursor. For context on why that distinction matters, I wrote about the difference between API, MCP, and CLI access for marketing tools specifically.

Is ZeroRank easy to use?
Based on ZeroRank's own documentation, onboarding is designed to be fast: add your brand, website, and competitors, and the platform claims setup in under 2 minutes with no credit card required for the trial. The docs include a plain-language glossary and a getting-started checklist built around six small tasks meant to deliver value in the first week, which suggests the team is aware this space (AEO, fanout queries, citation tracking) is unfamiliar territory for most marketers.
Support is Email and Live Chat on Starter and Pro, with Slack support added on Enterprise. That's a reasonable structure for a B2B SaaS tool at this price point, though ZeroRank publishes no response-time target and has no independent review record behind it yet.
I wasn't able to find independent G2 or Capterra review data on ZeroRank at the time of writing, which likely reflects how new the AI visibility category still is. That's not a knock against the product, just a gap worth knowing about before you commit to an annual plan.
Pricing
How much does ZeroRank cost?
ZeroRank starts at $76/month. That's 11% below median for AI Search Visibility (GEO). No free plan, but there’s a 7-day free trial.

ZeroRank Pricing Analysis
vs. 38 AI search visibility toolsBelow median for AI search visibility tools
Cheaper than 65% of AI search visibility tools on That Marketing Buddy's database.
ZeroRank starts at $76/month on Starter (or $64.60/month billed annually), jumps to $169/month on Pro ($143.65/month billed annually, marked as the most popular tier), and Enterprise is custom pricing on request. Annual billing saves 15% across the board, and there's a 7-day free trial with no credit card required.
The gap between tiers is mostly about volume, not features: Starter gets 4,500 AI answers analyzed monthly, 15 prompt research runs, and 3 AI articles plus 3 optimizations. Pro roughly triples all three (13,500 answers, 50 research runs, 12 articles plus 12 optimizations). Enterprise pushes past 31,500 answers with 150 research runs and 36 of each content type, plus Slack support layered on top.
For a solo operator or small business just dipping a toe into AI visibility tracking, $76/month is a real commitment, not a rounding error. For a growth team or agency already spending on SEO tools and treating AI answers as a channel worth defending, the Pro tier's volume looks more proportionate to actual usage than Starter's caps do.
| Plan | Monthly |
|---|---|
| Starter | $76/mo |
| Pro | $169/mo |
| Enterprise | Custom |

What's wrong with ZeroRank
Entry price excludes small budgets
$76/month before any content production or extra seats is steep for a solo creator or a bootstrapped small business testing whether AI visibility even matters to them yet.
Content generation caps are thin on lower tiers
3 AI articles and 3 optimizations a month on Starter won't support an active content calendar; you're paying more for volume before you can lean on the content tools seriously.
Enterprise pricing isn't public
Teams needing more than 31,500 tracked answers a month have to go through a demo and quote process, which slows down evaluation for larger organizations.
Newer category, thinner independent track record
As a platform in a category that's still forming (AEO/GEO tracking), ZeroRank doesn't yet have the years of accumulated third-party review history that legacy SEO tools have.
Annual commitment needed to unlock the discount
The 15% savings only applies if you commit annually; month-to-month buyers pay the full $76 or $169 rate with no equivalent discount lever.
Are these dealbreakers?
None of these are dealbreakers if AI visibility is already a line item in your marketing budget. But if you're still deciding whether AI answers matter enough to your business to pay for tracking, the price and content caps make ZeroRank a bigger commitment than a casual test.

Frequently asked questions about ZeroRank
It tracks how often and where your brand gets mentioned in AI-generated answers across 17 platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and Claude, plus sentiment and which sources those AI answers cite.
No. There's a 7-day free trial with no credit card required, but no permanent free tier after that.
Starter is $76/month ($64.60/month billed annually), Pro is $169/month ($143.65/month billed annually), and Enterprise is custom pricing.
Yes, both MCP server access and REST API access are included on every plan, including Starter, which is less common in this category where API access often gets gated to the top tier.
No. Traditional SEO tools track Google rankings and backlinks; ZeroRank tracks how AI platforms answer questions about your brand, which is a related but distinct problem.
Shareable client dashboards and unlimited seats are listed on all plans; white-label branding specifics are best confirmed directly with ZeroRank before committing to a client-facing rollout.
You can set tracking to daily, weekly, monthly, or run it on demand, depending on how closely you need to watch your AI visibility.
The three visible tiers are clear enough, but ZeroRank meters usage across several different units at once, which makes it harder to predict your actual monthly cost than a simple seat or contact-based tool.
ZeroRank is best for: SaaS growth teams; Agencies managing multiple client brands; Content teams building an AEO strategy; Teams already building on Claude or Cursor.
This is about as AI-native as a marketing tool gets right now, an MCP server, a documented REST API with an OpenAPI spec, and AI-generated content built into every plan from Starter up.
A documented REST API with full CRUD on prompts, brands, tags, and topics gives you a real way to pull your data out, but there's no mention of a one-click export or a competitor-import tool.
