The Verdict
Is Temso right for you?
Temso is an AI search optimization platform that tries to close the loop most GEO tools leave open. It tracks how your brand shows up across eight AI engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Copilot, Mistral and Google AI), then points an AI agent at the gaps to draft content, outreach and on-page fixes within guardrails you set.
It is one of the few tools in the category that moves from reporting to doing, and it backs that with a real, OpenAPI-documented REST API.
A genuinely agentic AEO platform: it does not just tell you that Perplexity ignores your brand, it drafts and executes work to fix it. Engine coverage is wide, including Claude, Grok and Mistral, and the agent stack is real: a live OAuth MCP server (read-only) that reads into Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT, plus a documented REST API. The trade-offs are about money.
The AI agent unlocks at $199 Growth and the REST API only at $499 Professional, so the cheap $29 tier is tracking-only, and the MCP server is read-only rather than write-capable.
Temso is self-serve and public: Basic $29/mo, Growth $199/mo and Professional $499/mo (billed yearly, about 15% off monthly), plus custom Enterprise . There is a free trial but no free plan. The AI Agent starts on Growth; the REST API only on Professional.
Who It's For
The right fit (and the wrong one)
✓Best for
- +SMBs and agencies wanting execution If you would rather a tool draft the content and on-page fixes than just flag them, Temso's agent does the work inside guardrails you define.
- +Teams tracking the long tail of engines Coverage spans eight engines including Claude, Grok and Mistral, so you see more than the usual ChatGPT-Perplexity-Gemini trio.
- +Data teams that will pay for the API The OpenAPI-documented REST API exposes responses, mentions, sources and analytics, plus a traffic-ingestion endpoint, if you are on the $499 Professional plan.
- +Marketers who want one closed loop Tracking, recommendations and execution live in one place, which beats stitching a monitor to a separate content tool.
✗Skip this if
- −Budget trackers The $29 Basic plan is tracking-only with 15 prompts and no agent. The features that make Temso interesting start at $199.
- −Developers on a budget The REST API is locked to the $499 Professional tier, so programmatic access is expensive compared with rivals that ship an API lower down.
- −Anyone needing write access through MCP Temso's MCP server is live and OAuth-based, but read-only. An agent can read your visibility data, rankings and prioritized actions, but cannot trigger Temso's Actions through MCP. If you need an agent to act through the protocol, that is not available yet.
- −Teams wanting high prompt volume cheaply Prompts cap at 15, 150 and 350 by tier, so heavy trackers climb the price ladder quickly.
Features
What can Temso do?
Temso's core loop is track, recommend, act. It reruns your priority prompts across eight AI engines, scores your visibility and share of voice, and surfaces which buyer questions your brand loses. That much is standard for the category. Where Temso diverges is the agent: it takes those findings and drafts the work, content, outreach and on-page changes, then executes within guardrails you set. The number of Actions is capped by plan (20 on Growth, 50 on Professional), so it is metered execution, not unlimited.
The developer side is more real than I expected. Temso publishes a live OpenAPI 3.1.1 specification at api.temso.ai/v1, with endpoints for projects, AI responses, accepted brands, brand mentions, source citations and analytics (visibility, share of voice and brand rankings), plus a traffic-ingestion endpoint for piping your own request events in. That is a proper API, not a token gesture. The catch is access: it is labelled Custom API access and only appears on the $499 Professional tier, so everyone below pays for tracking and the agent but cannot touch the data programmatically.
The agent stack is more complete than the pricing page lets on. Temso runs a live MCP server at app.temso.ai/api/v1/mcp, authenticated with OAuth, so Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT can read your visibility data, competitive rankings and prioritized actions directly. The tools are read-only, so an agent can read and reason but not trigger Actions through MCP. Paired with the REST API, you get both a no-key OAuth path and a programmatic one.
The honest caveats: the MCP is read-only, and the REST API sits on the $499 Professional tier.

UX & Support
Is Temso easy to use?
Temso is built to be run by a marketer, not a developer: you connect your brand, set guardrails and let the agent propose and execute. Support scales with plan, up to a dedicated account manager on Professional. For a tool asking $199 and up for its real tiers, that hand-holding is appropriate.
Because the agent executes real work, the guardrails matter. I would budget time to review what it drafts and publishes early on, the same way you would onboard a junior team member, rather than trusting autopilot from day one.
Pricing
How much does Temso cost?
Temso starts at $29/mo.
Temso keeps pricing public: Basic $29, Growth $199 and Professional $499 a month, billed yearly with about 15% off versus monthly, plus custom Enterprise. There is a free trial but no free forever plan. The headline $29 is real but thin: 15 prompts, three models, daily tracking, no AI agent and no API.
The tier that matters for most buyers is Growth at $199, where the AI Agent, 150 prompts, three projects, 20 Actions and the Looker Studio connector unlock. Professional at $499 adds 350 prompts, unlimited projects, 50 Actions, a dedicated account manager and, crucially, Custom API access. So the price you pay maps to how much you want the tool to do: track only, track and act, or track, act and integrate.
Compared with the category, Temso's entry is cheap but its useful tiers are mid-to-high. Otterly and Peec give you agent access (MCP and API) from lower price points, while Temso reserves the API for $499. What you are paying the premium for is the execution agent, which those trackers do not have. Price it on whether you value doing over reporting.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
No free forever plan, but there is a free trial. Paid pricing is public and self-serve: Basic $29/month , Growth $199/month and Professional $499/month (billed yearly, about 15% off monthly), plus custom Enterprise.
Three public tiers billed yearly: Basic $29/month (tracking only), Growth $199/month (adds the AI Agent and Looker Studio), and Professional $499/month (adds API access and a dedicated account manager). Enterprise is custom.
Yes. Temso publishes a real public REST API with a live OpenAPI 3.1.1 spec at api.temso.ai/v1, covering AI responses, brand mentions, sources and analytics, plus a traffic-ingestion endpoint. The catch is that API access is only included on the $499 Professional tier.
Yes. Temso runs a live MCP server at app.temso.ai/api/v1/mcp, authenticated with OAuth (add the connector and sign in, no API key needed). It works with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and other MCP clients, exposing read-only tools for visibility analytics, competitive rankings, prompts and action data. Alongside it, the REST API (api.temso.ai/v1, Bearer tms_ keys, project-scoped) is available on the Professional tier.
Peec and Otterly focus on tracking AI visibility and expose it through MCP and APIs at lower prices. Temso adds an AI agent that executes optimization work (content, outreach, on-page) rather than only reporting, which is its main differentiator, though its own API is reserved for the $499 tier.
Pricing is public, but the jump is steep: $29 Basic is almost a demo (15 prompts, no AI agent), and the parts you actually want, the executing AI agent and the API, sit at $199 and $499. Plan on the real cost being Growth or above.
Temso is genuinely agent-ready now. It tracks eight AI engines, ships an agent that takes action, and exposes the data the two ways agents want it: a live OAuth MCP server that reads straight into Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT, and a REST API. The main caveat is the $499 gate on the REST API.
A live MCP server, a documented REST API and a Looker Studio connector make it straightforward to pull your visibility, mentions and source data into your own stack or agents. The REST API is $499-gated, but the MCP server gives a second, OAuth-based path out.
