How this review was prepared
This review is based on cloro's own pricing page and FAQ, read on 2 October 2026, including its per-engine credit table and its billing answers. Prices are in USD and billed monthly.
This page contains an affiliate link to cloro, meaning I may earn a commission if you sign up (at no extra cost to you). It does not change what I wrote about the product or the plans.
The Verdict
Is cloro right for you?
cloro is an API, not a dashboard. You send it a prompt and an engine, and it returns what that engine answered, as data. It covers ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overview, Google Search and Google News.
One credit balance covers every engine, but each request costs a set number of credits: 3 for Google Search, 4 for Perplexity, Gemini and AI Mode, 5 for ChatGPT web search, Copilot and AI Overview, and 7 for a full ChatGPT response. Plans run from Free (500 credits) and Lite ($30 a month, 37,500 credits) up to Business ($1,000 a month, 2,800,000 credits), billed monthly.
Its honest buyer is a developer or a small agency that wants to build its own AI visibility report and is happy to write the code and the dashboard around it. If you want a finished tool that shows you where your brand appears in AI answers, this is the wrong kind of product.
Who It's For
Who cloro is for (and who it isn't)
✓ Best for
- +A technical solo builder with a reporting idea. The Free plan gives 500 credits a month and Lite costs $30, so you can build a prompt tracker for one or two brands before the bill matters.
- +A small agency that wants white-label AI visibility reports. Seats are unlimited on every paid plan, and one credit balance covers all engines, so you size one plan for all clients instead of one per tool or per brand.
- +Anyone who wants to own the data and the prompts. You choose the prompts, the engines and how often to run them, and you keep the raw answers instead of a vendor's summary score.
× Consider something else if
- −You are a business owner who wants a dashboard. cloro returns data, so someone still has to build the tracking, storage and reporting. A finished AI visibility tracker needs no code.Try Promptwatch →
- −You need classic Google SERP data at scale. cloro lists Google Search and Google News, but its engine table is built around AI answers. A SERP API is the more direct purchase for rank data.Try SerpApi →
- −You want keywords, backlinks and AI data from one vendor. DataForSEO sells a much wider catalogue on prepaid credit, with no monthly plan to size.Try DataForSEO →
What You Can Do
What can cloro do?
Run a prompt list across several AI engines
Take your 50 to 100 buyer prompts, send each one to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overview, and store the answers. Four engines at the async rates cost 18 credits per prompt, so 100 prompts is 1,800 credits for a full run.
Check whether your brand is named and cited
The answers come back as data, so you can search them for your brand, your competitors and your URLs, and count how often each appears over time. The counting and the charts are code you write.
Feed a client report
A small agency can run the same prompts weekly per client and turn the results into a monthly PDF or a simple dashboard. cloro supplies the answers, not the report.
Compare engines on the same prompt
Because one balance covers every engine, you can run one prompt on several engines and see where the answers differ, paying each engine's credit rate.
AI Capabilities
Does cloro Have an API?
API access
The API is the product. Every request consumes credits based on the engine you query, all endpoints are rate-limited to 1,000 requests per second, and each plan adds its own concurrency limit (1 on Free, 10 on Lite, 20 on Hobby, up to 100 on Business). Going over either limit returns a 429 error.
Async and sync requests
The credit rates cloro publishes apply to async or batch requests. A sync request adds a surcharge of 2 credits, so a 5 credit ChatGPT web search costs 7 credits when you call it synchronously.
Pricing
How much does cloro cost?
cloro is free for 500 credits a month, and paid plans start at $30 a month for 37,500 credits.
| Plan | USD, billed monthly; credits do not roll over |
|---|---|
| Free (500 credits) | Free |
| Lite (37,500 credits) | $30/mo |
| Hobby (250,000 credits)Popular | $100/mo |
| Starter (650,000 credits) | $250/mo |
| Growth (1,350,000 credits) | $500/mo |
| Business (2,800,000 credits) | $1000/mo |
cloro sells monthly credit allowances, and one balance covers every engine. Prices are in USD and billed monthly; the pricing page does not show an annual option for the standard plans, and annual terms exist only for Enterprise contracts. Credits do not roll over: unused credits expire at the end of the billing period. There is no pay as you go option. Failed extractions and system errors do not consume credits. When a monthly plan runs out, requests are rejected with a 403 error until you upgrade or the next cycle starts, and cloro emails you at 80% and 100% of the allowance.
What a credit buys, by engine
At the async rate: Google Search and Google News 3 credits (plus 2 per extra page), Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode 4, ChatGPT web search, Copilot and AI Overview 5, ChatGPT full response 7. A full ChatGPT response costs more because it includes query fan-out, ads and shopping data. Grok is listed at 4 credits but marked unavailable.
What a report run costs
100 prompts on ChatGPT web search, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overview is 400 requests and 1,800 credits. Run it weekly (four runs, 7,200 credits) and it fits Lite. Run it daily (30 runs, 54,000 credits) and it needs Hobby. Sync requests add 2 credits each.
Above Business
Enterprise 2K to 5K tiers run $2,000 to $5,000 a month for 5,871,025 to 16,391,783 credits, and the page lists an Enterprise row from $5,000 with overages and annual contracts.
Alternatives
When I'd choose something else
Three different buying priorities, and what I'd pick instead for each one.
If you want a finished AI visibility tracker
Promptwatch
Promptwatch is a dashboard for tracking prompts and brand mentions in AI answers, so there is nothing to build.
Trade-off: You get its reports and limits, not raw data you can reshape.
Explore Promptwatch for this use case →If you mostly need Google results
SerpApi
SerpApi is built around Google and other search engines, priced per successful search.
Trade-off: It is a SERP API first, not a ChatGPT and Perplexity answer API.
Explore SerpApi for this use case →If you want SEO data plus AI data
DataForSEO
DataForSEO covers SERPs, keywords, backlinks and AI visibility endpoints on prepaid credit.
Trade-off: Per-task pricing is harder to forecast than a monthly plan.

Limitations to consider before subscribing
It is data, not a product you can hand a client
There is no report, dashboard or alerting in what cloro sells. Everything after the API response is work you build and maintain.
Spend follows the engines you pick
A full ChatGPT response is 7 credits and Google Search is 3, so the same number of requests can cost very different amounts. Size a plan from your prompt list and engine mix, not from request counts.
Credits expire every month
Credits do not roll over, and there is no pay as you go option. A quiet month still costs the full plan price.
Monthly plans stop at zero
When the balance reaches zero, requests are rejected with a 403 error until you upgrade or the next cycle starts. Overages that keep service running exist only on annual Enterprise contracts.
Sync requests cost 2 credits more
The published rates are async or batch rates. Synchronous calls add 2 credits each, which is 40% on a 5 credit engine.
Grok is unavailable
Grok is listed with a 4 credit rate but marked unavailable on the pricing page, so do not plan a report around it.
No annual discount on the standard plans
The price per 1,000 credits falls as you move up, from $0.80 on Lite to $0.36 on Business, but the self-serve plans are billed monthly only.
My Recommendation
Should You Choose cloro?
Shortlist cloro if you or someone on your team writes code and you want raw answers from several AI engines to build your own AI visibility reporting.
Choose a finished AI visibility tracker if you want a dashboard today, or a SERP API if Google results are the real job.
What to check during the trial
- –Use the 500 free credits on your real prompts and the engines you need, and count the credits each run uses.
- –Multiply your prompt count by the credits per engine, then by runs per month, and compare the total with the plan table.
- –Decide whether you will call the API sync or async, since sync adds 2 credits per request.
- –Check that the concurrency limit of your plan fits how fast you need a run to finish.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about cloro
Free gives 500 credits a month. Lite is $30 a month for 37,500 credits, Hobby $100 for 250,000, Starter $250 for 650,000, Growth $500 for 1,350,000 and Business $1,000 for 2,800,000. Enterprise tiers run $2,000 to $5,000 a month. All prices are USD, billed monthly.
It depends on the engine. Google Search and Google News cost 3 credits, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode 4, ChatGPT web search, Copilot and AI Overview 5, and a full ChatGPT response 7. Those are async rates, and a sync request adds 2 credits.
No. cloro deducts credits only when it extracts and delivers the AI response data, so failed extractions and system errors do not use credits.
No. Credits expire at the end of each billing period, and there is no pay as you go option.
Yes. Every account starts on the Free plan with 500 credits a month, 1 concurrent request and 1 seat.
Not directly. It is an API that returns AI answer data, so it suits developers and small agencies who will build the reporting themselves. A business owner who wants a finished view of AI visibility should look at a tracker with a dashboard.
