AI answer API pricing

cloro pricing: a monthly credit allowance, and each engine costs a different number of credits

cloro is an API that returns what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI answer for a prompt. You pay a monthly plan from Free (500 credits) to Business ($1,000 a month), and each request spends credits by engine.

Buddy's take

The plan is decided by your prompt list, your engine mix and how often you run it, not by the sticker price. 100 prompts on four engines is 1,800 credits a run, which costs about $1.44 at Lite's rate per 1,000 credits. If nobody on your side writes code, cloro is the wrong purchase: it returns data, and the report is yours to build.

What one request costs, by engine

One credit balance covers every engine, but each request uses a set number of credits. These are the async rates cloro publishes. A sync request adds 2 credits. The dollar columns multiply the credits by cloro's stated price per 1,000 credits on that plan, USD, billed monthly.

A worked example: 100 prompts, 4 engines

Take 100 buyer prompts on ChatGPT web search, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overview. That is 400 requests and 1,800 credits per full run at async rates. How often you run it decides the plan.

Billing, extra costs and terms

The published subscription price is not necessarily the total cost. Check the terms that affect your actual workload, expansion and cancellation before you migrate.

1.

Every price on this page is in USD and billed monthly. The pricing page checked on 2 October 2026 shows no annual option for Free to Business. Annual terms exist for Enterprise contracts.

2.

Credits do not roll over. Unused credits expire at the end of the billing period, so a quiet month costs the full plan price.

3.

There is no pay as you go option. The bill is the same every month, and you budget once.

4.

Credits are deducted only when cloro extracts and delivers the AI response data. Failed extractions and system errors do not consume credits.

5.

The published credit rates are async or batch rates. A sync request adds 2 credits, so ChatGPT web search costs 7 credits when called synchronously.

6.

First limit you hit: credits. When the balance reaches zero, a monthly plan rejects requests with a 403 error until you upgrade or the next cycle starts. cloro emails you at 80% and 100% of your allowance. Overages that keep service running exist on annual Enterprise contracts only.

7.

Second limit: speed. All endpoints are limited to 1,000 requests per second, and each plan has its own concurrency cap (1 on Free, 10 on Lite, 20 on Hobby, 100 on Business). Going over either returns a 429 error.

8.

What moving up costs: Lite to Hobby: $70 more a month for 250,000 credits instead of 37,500. Hobby to Starter: $150 more a month for 650,000 credits instead of 250,000. Starter to Growth: $250 more a month for 1,350,000 credits instead of 650,000. Growth to Business: $500 more a month for 2,800,000 credits instead of 1,350,000.

9.

Grok is listed at 4 credits but marked unavailable on the pricing page, so do not size a plan around it.
