Access, auth, and limits
Auth combines your API key and secret into one MAILJET_API_KEY value formatted as key:secret, passed through the environment. That pair is a full-access credential, so treat the config file holding it as a secret and keep it out of any repository. There is no scoping mechanism and no read-only mode.
Because it runs over stdio there is no URL to connect to. Directory entries showing a GitHub URL as Mailjet's MCP endpoint are pointing at the source repository. Running through npx means you pick up new versions automatically, which is a small maintenance advantage over Mailgun's cloned checkout.

- Fallback: the REST API works for any flow the MCP server doesn't cover.
- Rate limits: MCP calls count against your underlying Mailjet API quota. Burst usage from a curious agent can drain a daily allowance fast.
Agent-readiness verdict
The easiest local email MCP to get running, with decent coverage of contacts, campaigns and segmentation. Its limits are the ones every stdio server has: a credential in a config file and a per-machine install.

Mailjet offers an official MCP server, documented public API, and support across 6 SDK languages (PHP, Ruby, Python, C#, Java, Node), making it straightforward to integrate into Claude and Cursor pipelines.
