What is the Kajabi API?

Kajabi publishes a public REST API with OAuth authentication and an OpenAPI spec at api.kajabi.com/openapi.yaml. Docs live at help.kajabi.com/api-reference. The OpenAPI file is the good news here: any modern agent or codegen tool can consume it directly and scaffold clients without you writing boilerplate.

What's missing is the part that matters for budgeting. There are no official SDKs listed (so you're rolling your own HTTP client or generating one from the spec), and the plan gating for API access isn't documented in a way I could verify automatically. Don't assume the cheapest paid tier unlocks it. Check the live pricing page or ask sales before you architect an integration around it.

What Kajabi exposes

I access Kajabi's data through a REST API covering contacts, offers, purchases, courses, and site activity, authenticated via OAuth. A community-built MCP server is available on GitHub (nerraaiAssistantBot/kajabi-mcp), so I can wire Kajabi into Claude or other MCP clients without writing glue code. Webhooks fire on events like purchases, form submissions, and member activity, which keeps my downstream systems in sync without polling. Zapier and Make are both supported, giving me no-code paths to CRMs, email tools, and spreadsheets. An OpenAPI spec is published at api.kajabi.com/openapi.yaml, which I use to generate clients in whatever language I need since no official SDKs are listed. No native ChatGPT or Claude plugin exists today.

How much does the Kajabi API actually cost?

Verify on docs

Kajabi publishes an API, but per-tier gating wasn't extracted automatically.

  • Most likely scenario: API access is either included in all paid plans, or it's gated to higher tiers and we need to verify on the live docs page.
  • Until verified, treat the question "which plan unlocks the API" as open. Don't budget on the assumption it's free with the cheapest paid plan.

Kajabi also has an MCP server

If you're wiring Kajabi into Claude / Cursor / Codex, the MCP server is usually less code than the REST API.

What you can build with the Kajabi API

Three personas, three different shapes of build. Pick the row that matches how you actually ship.

SOLO DEV / FOUNDER

Glue Kajabi into your daily workflow

  • Pull a digest of fresh activity into your morning Slack
  • Trigger a one-off backfill when something looks off
  • Pipe data into your own SQLite for ad-hoc queries
Effort: A weekend, one Node or Python script
AGENCY / CONSULTANT

Sell Kajabi reporting at scale

  • White-label Kajabi data into client-branded dashboards
  • Run scheduled multi-account reports without logging into the Kajabi UI
  • Cross-reference with the rest of the client's stack (CRM, analytics, ad spend)
Effort: 1-2 weeks, hits multi-tenant auth quickly
IN-HOUSE ENGINEER

Production pipelines for Kajabi

  • Real-time sync into your warehouse via webhooks
  • Custom alerts the dashboard's built-in alerting can't express
  • Backfill + idempotency handling for Kajabi data older than the dashboard exposes
Effort: Multi-week project, expect rate-limit tuning

curl -X GET "https://help.kajabi.com/<your-endpoint>" \

  -H "Accept: application/json" | jq .

Limits and gotchas

  • No OpenAPI spec — you write typed clients by hand or use a third-party generator on the docs HTML.
  • Webhooks available — react to Kajabi events in real time instead of polling.
  • No official SDK detected. Plan on hitting the API directly with your HTTP client of choice.
  • Rate limits: always read the docs page before scaling — the published limit is usually lower than the practical one and overages can be expensive.
  • No-code fallback: Zapier and Make.com cover the common triggers if you want to skip writing API code for simple flows.

Agent-readiness verdict

The OAuth + OpenAPI combo is exactly what you want for agent automation, so the technical foundation is solid. Just confirm which Kajabi plan actually unlocks API calls before you commit, because that single answer can swing your monthly cost by hundreds of dollars.

Mixed agent potential. Kajabi has a community MCP server and documented public API with OAuth, but lacks an official MCP, OpenAPI spec, and structured outputs support. Plan to build custom integrations if you're serious about agent automation.

Kajabi API FAQ

Does Kajabi have a public API?+
What auth does the Kajabi API use?+
OAuth 2.0 — good for delegated access (when other users authorize your app).
Does Kajabi support webhooks?+
Yes — webhooks are available on standard plans.
Should I use the API or the MCP server for Claude / Cursor / Codex?+
Prefer the MCP server for agent workflows — it's less code and pre-handles auth flows. Use the REST API for scheduled jobs, dashboards, and anything outside an LLM-driven flow.
