Yoast SEO Pricing

Yoast SEO pricing is simple: a free WordPress plugin or Premium at $129/year (€118.80) per site. The free version covers SEO analysis, readability scoring, XML sitemaps, and basic schema markup. Premium adds redirect management, multi-keyword optimization, internal linking suggestions, and three bundled plugins (Local, Video, News SEO).

My Take on Yoast SEO Pricing

Joonas Rotko

Yoast SEO's pricing is refreshingly straightforward in a market full of confusing tiers. You get two options: free or Premium. That's it.

The free version is genuinely useful, not a crippled demo. Most small blogs and personal sites can run on it indefinitely. This is rare in the WordPress plugin space.

Premium at $129/year per site is fair if you need redirect management (you will if you ever rename URLs), multi-keyword optimization, or the bundled Local/Video/News plugins. The three bundled plugins alone would cost more separately.

The catch is per-site pricing. One site? Reasonable. Five client sites? That's $645/year. Agencies should seriously consider Rank Math, which offers comparable Premium features at $79/year for unlimited personal sites or $199/year for 100 client sites.

Which Plan Should You Choose?

Personal bloggers & small sitesFree

The free plugin covers everything a small WordPress site needs: SEO analysis, readability scoring, XML sitemaps, and basic schema. No reason to pay unless you need redirects or multi-keyword targeting.

Content-heavy sites & publishersPremium

Multi-keyword optimization for 5 keywords per page, internal linking suggestions, and the redirect manager save significant time on sites publishing 10+ posts per month.

Local businessesPremium

The bundled Local SEO plugin alone justifies the cost. It adds business schema, opening hours, maps, and multi-location support without a separate purchase.

Agencies managing client sitesFree (or consider Rank Math)

Per-site pricing adds up fast. Use the free version for basic client sites, or evaluate Rank Math's agency pricing at $499/year for 500 sites.

Is Yoast SEO Worth the Price?

Value for Money:8.5/10

Yoast SEO is worth paying for if you manage a single content-focused WordPress site and need redirect management, multi-keyword optimization, or the bundled Local/Video/News plugins. The free version is excellent for smaller sites. The main pricing weakness is per-site licensing. Agencies and multi-site operators should compare Rank Math or SEOPress before committing.
