SEO Software pricing at your tracked keyword count

Use my pricing calculator to see how Moz compares with other SEO Software software at the tracked keyword count you actually need. Every tool here is priced at the same volume, which is the comparison a vendor’s own pricing page cannot make.

tracked keywords

At 50 tracked keywords, Moz costs $99/mo, which is #8 of 13 in SEO Software. Semrush, the most-reviewed option here, costs $139/mo at the same volume.

Priced in another currency, so listed separately rather than ranked:

The vendor’s own price is on the left. The dollar figure is my conversion at rates taken on 2026-08-06, shown only to give a sense of scale. These vendors do not set their dollar price by converting, so the approximation is not what you would be charged and is not used for ranking.

Some tools do not publish a price at exactly 50 tracked keywords. Those show the next tier up, which is what you would actually pay: AnswerThePublic at 100, Keysearch at 80, LowFruits at 3,000, SpyFu at 5,000, Ranklytics at 100, Wincher at 500.

What an agency stack actually costs

Real Moz stacks rarely stay on the headline plan. A 2-person agency on Moz Pro Medium ($143/mo annual) needs to buy a second user seat ($49/mo), AI Visibility on 2 client domains beyond the base 2 dashboards ($20 × 2 = $40/mo), and 200 more tracked prompts ($50 × 2 = $100/mo). Add Moz Local Preferred on 3 client locations ($24 × 3 = $72/mo) with Listings AI on two ($14 × 2 = $28) and the working stack hits $432/mo, about 3× the Medium plan price. The $49 Starter is the true floor, but it's gated to a single site and single user (extra seats are $49/mo each). For most agencies the practical entry is Standard at $79/mo annual, then Medium once keyword caps bite. Moz API is priced separately and bills per row, so adding programmatic access starts at $20/mo (Starter, 3K rows) and scales independently of the SEO suite quota.

Recommendation

Which plan should you choose?

+
StarterSolo Consultants

Starter at $49/month (annual billing) covers basic SEO needs for individuals managing a single client site or their own website. The plan includes keyword research, rank tracking, and site crawling at entry-level limits. Without a free trial or money-back guarantee, the commitment is higher than many competing SEO tools at this price point. Upgrade to Standard when you need backlink analysis capabilities or want to manage more than one site simultaneously.

+
StandardSmall Agencies

Standard adds backlink analysis and supports up to 3 sites, expanding Moz's utility for agencies managing a small client roster. Backlink data is essential for competitive analysis and link building strategy, making this the first tier where Moz provides a complete SEO picture. For agencies with 2-3 active client projects, Standard's limits typically cover the workload. Move to Medium when you need additional user seats or manage more than 3 client sites.

+
MediumGrowing Teams

Medium provides 2 user seats and branded reporting, which supports teams where multiple people need access and client-facing reports are part of the workflow. Branded reports add professionalism to client deliverables without manual reformatting of exported data. The expanded limits handle a mid-sized client portfolio comfortably. Consider the Large plan if your team or client count outgrows Medium's capacity.

+
LargeLarge Agencies

Large offers the highest keyword tracking and page crawling limits with support for up to 25 sites, accommodating agencies with substantial client rosters. The expanded capacity handles high-volume SEO operations across many domains without hitting plan limits. For agencies running comprehensive SEO campaigns across 10+ client sites, this tier provides the necessary headroom. If your needs exceed even the Large plan's limits, contact Moz about custom enterprise arrangements.

+
Contact SalesEnterprise Teams

Standard plan user limits are likely too restrictive for larger enterprise teams with multiple departments working on SEO simultaneously. Moz's standard tiers cap user seats, which creates workflow bottlenecks for bigger organizations where collaboration is essential. Contacting Moz's sales team lets you negotiate custom user seats, limits, and support levels matched to your organization. If your enterprise needs are relatively focused (few users, few sites), the Large plan may be sufficient without custom pricing.

Scaling Costs

How much as you grow?

Moz uses usage-based pricing. Here's how costs change as your usage grows.

On the All Plans plan, Moz ranges from $10/mo at 1 crawl_pages to $15/mo at 50,000 crawl_pages. That's a 1.5x increase.

Buddy's Take

On the All Plans plan, going from 1 to 50,000 crawl_pages is a 1.5x price jump ($10 to $15/mo). Budget for this. Usage-based pricing always catches people off guard.

Editorial

My take on Moz pricing

Joonas Rotko
Joonas RotkoAuthor & founder of That Marketing Buddy

Moz built its reputation on the Domain Authority metric, which remains one of the most widely referenced SEO benchmarks in the industry. The SEO learning resources and community around Moz are also among the best, making it particularly appealing for teams that are still developing their SEO expertise.

The challenge is that Moz's toolset has not evolved as quickly as competitors. For the same $99/month, tools like SE Ranking offer more features and fresher data. The lack of a free trial or money-back guarantee also creates unnecessary friction. At minimum, a 14-day trial would let potential customers verify the data quality before committing to a monthly subscription.

Moz fits teams already familiar with its interface and metrics who value stability over bleeding-edge features. For new users choosing their first SEO tool, newer platforms generally offer better value per dollar and more modern interfaces.

Hidden Costs

What the pricing page doesn't tell you

1

Overages not included

The pricing tables show "*Overages not included" which suggests there are additional charges when you exceed plan limits. However, the specific overage fees and when they apply are not detailed on the pricing page.

2

Additional user seats cost $49/month each

After signing up, you can add more user seats for $49 per month per seat on any plan level. This cost is not included in the base plan prices and represents a significant additional expense for teams.

3

Add-on costs for exceeding plan limits

Various plan limits can be increased for additional monthly fees: $10/mo per additional Campaign, $15/mo per additional 50,000 Pages Crawled, $20/mo per additional 200 Keywords, $10/mo per additional 10,000 Keyword Queries, $25/mo per additional 5 Keyword Lists, and $25/mo per additional 5 Link Tracking Lists.

4

Starter plan hidden from main pricing display

A $49/month starter plan exists for individuals managing a single website but is only mentioned briefly at the bottom of the page rather than being prominently displayed with other plans.

Verdict

Is Moz Worth the Price?

Moz carries the weight of its industry reputation, but the pricing feels dated against modern alternatives. The Domain Authority metric and educational resources still hold value, but the tool itself needs a trial option to stay competitive. For established Moz users, the platform remains solid. For new subscribers, comparing against alternatives before committing is worth the time.
